15 Frequently Asked Questions – Vinyl Pool Liners
1. How do I measure my swimming pool?
To get the correct measurements for you above ground pool, measure from inside wall to inside wall. To get your pool’s depth, take your measurement from the deepest point on the pool floor to the top of the inside of the pool wall. This will work best if you have another set of hands to help you out, so grab a family member or friend for help!
2. If I don’t see my pool size as an option for a liner, can I buy the next size up and use that? Will it fit properly?
No. LinerWorld pool liners are made to be an exact fit for the specific measurements of your pool. Even if your pool only measures slightly under 27 feet, for example, the 27-foot liners will not fit your pool properly. If you are unsure whether or not a pool liner will work for you, feel free to contact us and we would be happy to help you make sure that you are getting the right fit for your pool!
3. What is the difference between an overlap pool liner and a beaded pool liner?
The difference between above ground overlap and beaded pool liners is the way that the liner is held in place at the top of the pool. Overlap pool liners go over the side of your pool wall and are held by coping strips. Beaded pool liners are fed into a bead receiver which is installed on the inside of your pool wall.

12. How long will my pool liner and accessories last?
Typically a pool liner will last around 10 years. That depends heavily on the regular maintenance, liner care, proper installation, as well as how often you are using your pool and the weather that is impacting it. Each pool accessory has its own lifespan which you can read more about below.
13. Why is my pool liner failing?
Years of exposure to over-chlorinated water and UV rays can cause your vinyl pool liner to deteriorate quickly. The lining will start to crack at the water level, tears will start to occur, the rest of the liner will become brittle, and your pool will constantly be leaking water. Don’t let your pool get to this point! Make sure that you are taking the proper steps to make sure that your liner is being cared for to reduce damage and wear.

15. How can you tell if your pool liner is leaking?
There is always normal water loss with evaporation, but if you are losing water quickly, there likely is a bigger issue occurring. Puddles and damp spots surrounding your pool can be a sign that your liner is leaking. Test the puddles for chlorine to see if the water is directly coming from your pool or not and cracks on your pool deck, soft spots, or stains can also be a sign that your pool isn’t properly holding water.
