DIY Fourth of July Pool Decorating

With the Fourth of July right around the corner, you might be thinking of how to celebrate. How about a pool party? Whether it’s a group of friends or just your family celebrating Independence Day together this year, LinerWorld has some ideas to help you throw an epic Fourth of July pool party.

Pool Noodle Firecrackers

This decoration is fun, easy, affordable, and sure to brighten up your holiday celebration! With only a few supplies needed, you could easily throw these together right before your party begins.

What You Need:

  • 2 red pool noodles
  • 2 blue pool noodles
  • 1 roll of white shipping tape (or duct tape)
  • 1 pack of patriotic embellishments
  • 1 pair of scissors

Instructions:
First, cut 2 pieces out of a blue pool noodle and 1 piece out of a red pool noodle to your desired length. Depending on where you plan to put these decorations, lengths may vary. Next, put the noodles together to form a triangle shape and tape around them with the white shipping tape. Now, place the patriotic embellishments in the top of the pool noodles and you’ve achieved a perfect firecracker!

Pool Orbs

These fun and simple pool decorations will have your swimming pool lighting up all night!, These quick and easy orbs are a hassle free way to liven up your Fourth of July celebration.

What You Need:

  • 2 red latex balloons
  • 2 blue latex balloons
  • 2 white latex balloons
  • 6 waterproof tea lights

Instructions:
Turn all tea lights on and then by stretching the opening of the balloon, pop one tea light into each latex balloon. Blow up your balloons to the desired size and tie them shut. Now, float your orbs in the pool and hop in and enjoy!

Red, White & Blue Lawn Stars

People are bound to be running around the yard during your Fourth of July party, so why not make it festive? These simple painted stars are sure to impress your guests this holiday.

What You Need:

  • 1 piece of old cardboard
  • 1 can of red marking spray paint
  • 1 can of blue marking spray paint
  • 1 can of white marking spray paint
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • Safety glasses
  • Protective gloves

Instructions:
Start by tracing a star onto your old piece of cardboard and cutting it out with your scissors. Put on your protective eyewear and gloves and place the piece of cardboard in a chosen area on your lawn. Pick one paint color and fill in the star cut out. Remove the cutout and repeat with the different colors until you’re lawn is filled with patriotic accents!

Pool Noodle Luminaries

You won’t believe how simple this next pool decoration is! In just a few minutes your pool will have transformed into a patriotic paradise. Floating these luminaries will light your swimming pool up as you party into the night.

What You Need:

  • 2 packs of waterproof tea lights
  • 1 red pool noodle
  • 1 blue pool noodle
  • 1 pair of scissors

Instructions:
Grab your pool noodles and a pair of scissors and cut the noodles into 3-inch pieces. Turn all your tea lights on and fit them in the center of the pool noodle. This may require you to stretch the center of the noodle a little to fit each tea light. Take your luminaries and float them around your swimming pool for a patriotic ambiance.

Floating Cooler

Keep your guests hydrated all day long with this floating cooler! No one will have to leave a game of Marco Polo to get a cold drink if you’ve got this easy DIY pool accessory.

What You Need:

  • 1 pool noodle
  • 1 roll of waterproof nylon rope
  • 1 medium storage container

Instructions:
Start by cutting your pool noodle into four pieces. Two of the pieces should be slightly longer than the others to fit the long sides of your storage container. Place the noodles around the container and thread your nylon rope through them. Pull the noodles to the top of the storage container then tighten and fasten the rope. Fill your new floating cooler with some ice and stay hydrated all day long!
